Web Site Redesign
SharpPower is pleased to announce that the redesign of
the Web site has been completed.
We had several goals for the redesign of the Web site:
- Replace our 1999 design which had become outdated
Based on feedback we had received over the last four years,
we added some new features and changed others. We used
the newest technologies such as ASP.NET, WebServices,
and XML to create the powerful and extensible Web architecture.
- Ensure high usability and a quality user experience
As we worked on our site redesign, we focused on
improving the content and navigation to give visitors comprehensive
information about our products. We examined which areas were most popular
and positioned these sections to be easily found.
The
new site is divided into three primary sections ("Company",
"Products", and "Support"), which are then subdivided into
more specific areas. Visitors can navigate through these sections and
subsections using the Toolbox and Tabs navigation elements.
- Increase download speed
The balance between looks and speed was resolved by using dynamic
generation of browser specific HTML code on the client machine
whenever it is possible, as well as replacing graphics by
DHTML and applying powerful caching.
SharpPower welcomes feedback on its new site. All comments and
suggestions should be directed to webmaster@SharpPower.com
